February 23rd, QHHS will be hosting an informational Career Fair from 3-5 pm in our gymnasium

Good evening QHHS Parents and students. On February 23rd, QHHS will be hosting an informational Career Fair right after school, from 3-5 pm, and everyone is invited. There will be schools and universities from the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas to answer questions regarding college options. Also, since aerospace is such an important part of the Antelope Valley, we have invited major aerospace corporations to our event, like Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, NASA Armstrong and Edwards AFB to meet QH students. Opportunities are here for students looking for employment, internships and apprenticeships. There will be many local businesses that are currently hiring, so bring a resume. With such a large spectrum of career options represented from medical fields, engineering, test pilots, emergency responders, park rangers, dog trainers, cake decorators, and politicians…. we have it all! This is one event you and your children do not want to miss! See you there and dress for success!

Voluntary Saturday School Offering

Quartz Hill High School is happy to announce that starting on January 21, 2017, and continuing for all second semester Saturday Schools, we are opening up our credit retrieval subject options!! Previously, students have only been allowed to finish credits that were not completed in Summer school. Students may now take any courses offered in the APEX program, needed for credit retrieval purposes. This is a great opportunity for any student to catch up on missing/incomplete credits needed for graduation purposes. Subjects for credit retrieval are limited to what is offered in the APEX program. Also, any courses taken in APEX are NOT NCAA compliant.

If you’re student is interested in making up credits on a Saturday, please have them see their counselor to receive a list of what credits are needed. They will then take this list to the teacher working on the Saturday School session.

After seeing the counselor, your student will need to see Melissa Thomas in Administration to get a Voluntary Saturday School form that must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned.
